Welcome to my virtual studio.  The real FernWood Studio is located on a wooded 21 acres in the Puget Sound region of Washington state.  Here I draw, paint and putter with all the materials of an artistic life.  Drawing on my erstwhile profession as an equine veterinarian, I illustrate medical and natural science subjects and paint portraits of animals.   Wild things and landscapes are other favorite subjects.  If I’m not here painting or puttering, you can often find me out horseback riding, running, bicycling, hiking, backpacking or kayaking.   Thanks for visiting.
