Living in the Pacific Northwest provides me with unlimited outdoor opportunities. Sketchbook in hand, I do my best to take advantage of this bounty of artistic inspiration. My goal is to capture the intangibles; the smell of hiking in the rain, the feeling of summiting Mt. Rainier, the rush of an incoming ocean tide. Besides line drawings and paintings my sketchbooks are filled with naturalist notes, anecdotes and poetry . I create a lasting memory of my adventures by crafting a book from photocollage, sketches, poetry, nature notes and anecdotes and information researched at home such as tide tables, maps or the Latin names of plants and animals I have met along the way.
